Fireside Chairs and Matching Sofas

For those looking for a slightly higher and more upright sitting position, this group of chairs offers both fixed and reclining models. All but the Prima offer a reclining action, which allows the user to change sitting position periodically. This gives greater sitting comfort than in fixed chairs, especially when sitting for longer periods or when using a footstool. There are British manufacturers of fireside chairs but very few of them offer any movement in their chairs. The Norwegian company Elano make a good range of very comfortable fireside chairs and matching sofas, many of which also recline.

Elano offer all their models in around 90 different fabrics, 14 leather colours and 10 different wood stains. Delivery is normally between 6 and 8 weeks from date of order, altough we hold some stocks of the Prima for immediate delivery.

Prima chair

For those who want a non-reclining fireside chair, the Prima offers excellent value and comfort. The arm tops are well padded and the wooden arms provide a good grip for getting in and out of the chair. The seat height starts at 46cm, but the advantage with 4-legged, wooden frame chairs is that we can adjust leg length down to suit smaller users.

A very popular reclining fireside chair, the Senorita has a simple catch release to recline the chair. This model also has infilled side panels. An optional matching footstool is available if required. Chair height can be reduced if needed.

Another reclining fireside chair with infilled side panels and with a larger back than either the Prima or Senorita. There is a simple push-to-recline system on this chair for ease of movement. A matching footstool can be added if required. Chair height can be reduced if needed.
