In the late nineties, MBT started a crusade. They realised that the human body is simply not built to walk or stand on hard, flat surfaces. They also discovered that conventional shoes stabilise the body in such a way that the body's supporting muscle system is neglected, which can result in joint and back pain. They wanted to make the world aware that our health is significantly influenced by the way we walk. And they were determined to develop something that would continuously stimulate the postural and stabilising musculature of the whole body. They knew they had to be radical to be successful. So we used radical measures to dramatise the corrosive effect on our health from wearing, traditional shoes. And radical thinking to engineer and design a new kind of footwear that was different from anything else on the market. They named their footwear MBT, and refused to call it a shoe. Because MBT is totally different.
In other words: It is the antithesis of a shoe. MBT call it 'The anti-shoe'.
It is designed to help people all over the world live healthier and better lives.
The key to MBT is its revolutionary sole construction. The interplay of the Shank, PU midsole and Masai Sensor places the body in a natural instability that can otherwise only be achieved by walking barefoot on natural, uneven surfaces. The natural instability activates the body's supporting muscle system and has positive effects on the entire body.

MBT don't believe in shoes but in footwear that has positive effects on the entire body. Because of MBT's specially designed sole, wearing MBTs significantly improves your gait and posture and relieves stress on your joints and back. It also exercises a large number of muscles, whether you're walking or standing. This, in turn, stimulates your metabolism, burns extra calories and supports muscle regeneration. In addition, MBTs can have a firming effect on abdominal, leg and buttock muscles.
Hundreds of thousands of consumers and scientists worldwide have experienced the many positive effects of MBT footwear.
