RH Ambio Range

If you spend a lot of time in your chair at work, you’ll already know how important it is to be comfortable. But comfort is not merely a matter of posture. It is also about temperature and ventilation. That is why RH has developed RH Ambio, a completely new kind of chair that is not only ventilated to maintain a consistent temperature, but which helps you sit properly and as a result, feel much better.

RH Ambio is easy to customise to ft your physical needs and your working environment. The controls are placed on the right side of the chair and can easily be reached while sitting. Pictorial controls allow the user immediately to see how the chair should be used and adjusted. When you’ve chosen the basic settings for the height of the chair, back, and arms along with the tension, you’ll almost never need to change them again. It can’t get any simpler. By releasing the knee-tilt mechanism you can vary your posture smoothly between a forward or reclining position, allowing full freedom of movement, while the basic settings remain the same.

The seat and back pads of RH Ambio are made of Ventec™, a unique natural material developed by RH. Ventec™ is made predominately of horsehair, a material that has long been known for its ability to transport moisture and heat (according to studies carried out by the independent testing institute, IFP Research AB), to effectively breathe. The RH Ambio chair takes this characteristic and develops it to a new level. The pure wool upholstery covering the seat and backrest also has ventilating properties. RH Ambio is 25 per cent better at transporting heat and 15 per cent better at transporting moisture away from the body than other offce chairs.

The knee-tilt mechanism ensures that there is minimal lift at the front of the seat so that your feet stay on the ground. The pressure on the underside of the legs is minimised and the blood flow is normal all the time. The support from the back remains in place when you recline the chair and so the lumbar support is therefore always in the right place. This means that you maintain an upright posture, you breathe better and perform better.

RH Ambio is environmentally-friendly right down to the smallest part. The stuffing in the seat and back pads is made of natural fibre. This is also the case with the wool upholstery. The other parts of the chair are made of totally recyclable aluminium, steel and plastic.
