Salli Saddle Seating

Saddle seating comes in many forms but the Salli range, manufactured in Finland, is our most popular, especially with male users. In essence, the saddles allow the user to sit with an angle of around 135° between torso and upper leg, and the same between the upper and lower leg. In addition, the legs are splayed to between 60° and 90°. This geometry is the most relaxed position for the leg and pelvis to adopt and allows excellent posture. It is the ideal form of seating for the dental professions, but is applicable to many other and varied occupations as well. The only point to note is that for desk users, the working surface height generally needs to be between 80 and 90cm, rather than 73cm which is normal for the average conventional chair user.

The main design feature of the Salli range over other saddles is the provision of split seats. Some users, both male and female, find the reduction in pressure in the genital area that the split seats offer makes for more comfortable sitting than on one piece saddles.

The Salli saddle is available with any of three lengths of gas stem, short, medium and long. A variety of castors can be supplied, depending on floor type. Many more accessories and variations on the theme are available than can be shown here. Please call us if you have specific requirements.

Salli Classic

Generally used more by women than men. It has a single piece seat, with seat height and inclination (seat tilt) adjustment. Available in A1-quality leather (8 colours and 16 colours with longer delivery time) or fabric (4 colours, 100 colours for extra price). Also available in ESD fabric, ESD leather, washable/disinfectable leather and artificial leather.

Salli Twin

The Salli Twin is an excellent all-round chair for both genders, offering good ventilation and reduced perineal pressure. It has a divided seat with a fixed gap, and seat height and inclination (seat tilt) adjustment. Available in A1-quality leather (8 colours and 16 colours with longer delivery time) or fabric (4 colours, 100 colours for extra price). Also available in ESD fabric, ESD leather, washable/disinfectable leather and artificial leather.

Salli MultiAdjuster

Our most popular Salli model, the MultiAdjuster is an excellent and versatile chair, popular with both genders. It has a divided seat with the benefit of quick adjustment of seat pad width and position to cater for a wide range of users. Seat height and inclination (seat tilt) can also be adjusted. Available in A1-quality leather (8 colours and 16 colours with longer delivery time) or fabric (4 colours, 100 colours for extra price). Also available in ESD fabric, ESD leather, washable/disinfectable leather and artificial leather.

Salli Surgeon

All members of the Salli range can have a variety of accessories attached, but the Salli Surgeon has been designed with the needs of the operating theatre in mind. The addition of a fully adjustable backrest and adjustable elbow support platforms, together with a foot operated seat height adjustment, makes this chair particularly applicable for demanding, precision work in theatre or in dental surgeries. As with the other chairs, it is available in washable/disinfectable leather and artificial leather as well as all the standard covers.

Option: ErgoRests

A pair of articulating forearm supports designed to steady the hands and relieve tension in the shoulders. They are rear mounting and height adjustable with fine height adjustment on each arm. They will swing out of the way when not required, or can be detached completely. The strong support arms are made of aluminium alloy and polyamid, the pads are upholstered with genuine leather. The ErgoRests can also be fitted in combination with the Salli Stretchrest back support.

Option: Small Elbow Table

This useful addition can be fitted to the Salli Classic, Salli Twin or Salli MultiAdjuster. It is designed to give forearm support to professions such as anaethatists, dentists or indeed anyone who requires support to do precise, accurate work with a steady hand. The curved platform is approximately 63 cm in length, 7cm in width and is upholstered with soft leather in any of the A1-leathers (8+16 colours). It can be fitted retrospectively if required.
