Saddle seats come in many shapes and sizes, although the concept behind them all is the same. The Oxford Saddle Seat has been a popular chair for a number of years and at a considerably lower price than some of its rivals. It is suitable for women, but we would suggest the split seat Salli for male users who sit for any length of time. Available with either a black or a chrome base and with or without adjustable seat tilt (highly recommended). The seat height is adjustable from 62-82cm.

As with all saddle seating, it is designed to mimic the upright standing position of the upper body, whilst sitting down. The characteristic saddle seat shape holds your pelvis in this upright, neutral position, allowing better alignment of the spine. Saddles are particularly applicable to professions where the user needs to sit-stand. This includes the dental professions, sonographers, opticians, pharmacists, hair stylists etc.

If you intend to use any of the saddle seats at a desk, please note that because you tend to sit higher on saddle seats than on conventional office seating, it is important to adjust your desk to a more appropriate height, if required. This is an important factor, as the benefits of using saddle seating can be negated by too low a working surface.

Options

For most professions, a leather seat is most practical, but this saddle is also available in fabric if required.
